    The initial Kickstarter covers for the moment only owners of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. However, other car brands are in pending qualification process, small adaptions to wiper length, wipe angle and counter magnet position to be checked.   • Easy mount & dismount, any risk to get removed by externals ?
    The GeckoWiper comes with a dual safety attachment / detachment system, which requires for dismount to remove first the window internal magnet by the owner prior releasing the vacuum and so system from the outside window. With the internal magnet in place, magnet forces are holding back the system & the outside vacuum pad can not easily be removed, air entry is hindered.

  • Why not induction charging via car own big battery ?
    The GeckoWiper development had one key requirement in mind, everyone should be able to mount and dismount, without any car internal cabel connection towards the cars main power. As a result, focus on a fully stand alone & cable free System was key, including low energy consumption design, requiring recharging only after several months (benchmark Switzerland Zurich area). USB-C charging is standard worldwide for phones, so we decided for its integration.
  • Why not top window mounted below spoiler ?
    For the Hyundai Ioniq 5, a top mounted rear window wiper was initially validated. On the one hand, top mounted GeckoWipers resulted in a higher visual blockage of the driver looking into the back mirror and on the other hand, more importantly, the wiping motion top mounted is sidewards & wiping water upwards, resulting in water drop down in horizontal switch of position. That is why 99% of cars have their rear window wiper also bottom window mounted. In summary, bottom mounted result in better water wiping & reduced optical blockage looking rearwards.
